Last month I had the opportunity to help out a friend and fellow photographer, Chelsea of Bit of Ivory Photography, at a unique bridal event here in Hampton Roads. The Heart + Soul Wedding Event was held at the lovely Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA). It was first time at the museum and just fell in love with the lobby space. High ceilings, lots of windows, and my favorite part….TREES growing inside! It would be such a lovely place for a daytime event. Call me an old lady but I want to have a tea party and invite all my girlfriends just so I can sit in there and enjoy the space and the architecture.
Although I wasn’t the official second shooter that day, I did have the opportunity to wander around before all the blushing brides arrived and take some pictures. I love flowers, details, textures and…did I mention flowers? This post will mostly focus on the textures and colors the awesome vendors had on display. There was even a surprise proposal near the end of the night. Her reaction was priceless. She was in such shock she fell to her knees in (happy) tears. Made me tear up. But then again I cry at every wedding and every sappy commercial on television…especially the ones with the animals….you know which ones I am talking about. Get me every time. Enough about animals, on to the images!
