A couple weeks ago I headed to the Outer Banks to photograph another wedding. It was an absolutely beautiful day!!! Charles + Mechell live in Georgia but decided to have a destination wedding. They rented out a large beach house for the occasion. This house was gorgeous! When I stepped inside I decided that I wanted to move in. I mean, come on, it had it’s own elevator. How cool is that!
Since I had only been to the OBX one other time and I knew we had a good amount of time for portraits, I got to town early to scope out a location. Luckily, the lighthouse area was close to the house. There were some very pretty locations within the vicinity. My favorite was the narrow boardwalk with the trees overhead. Sooooo gorgeous! It was also a nice change of scenery from the beach ceremony we had just come from.
My favorite part of the day was during the reception. It was almost time to leave for the night when my second shooter, Jessie (Schu’s Shoots Photography) and I were treated to something very special. First, they played the video of the proposal (bonus) and then….THEN came the real treat. The bride serenading her groom. This. woman. can. sing.! She belted out At Last by Etta James like it was nobody’s business. I had chills up and down my arms. It was a great way to end the evening! Charles + Mechell, it was such a pleasure working with the two of you! I wish you two nothing but the best in your new life together. Keep on singin’, girl!
Girl, you’re rocking that 24-70. So lovely!
