I have been fortunate to photograph two weddings this year in Michigan. If you missed the first one, you can check it out here. Caitlin+Zac’s wedding was the second. Their ceremony and reception took place at the Montague Inn in Saginaw, Michigan. Such a pretty place for a wedding!
Caitlin’s family and mine go back a little bit. We all grew up in the same small town. Our dads were co-workers and her father was my english teacher in high school. My mom gave Caitlin violin lessons for a short time and Caitlin’s sister and matron-of-honor, Allyssa, piano lessons. Allyssa also ended up marrying my younger brother.
Caitlin+Zac’s wedding events didn’t happen in the normal order of things. Across the river from the inn there was a country music festival going on. Due to the noise level cocktail hour ended up happening before the ceremony. Which worked out great because we were able to get all the separate bridal party pictures done and we had some great background music. Montgomery Gentry was serenading us during portrait time! How cool is that!? Their roaring 20’s theme was so much fun. Between the handmade head pieces the bridesmaids wore to the guests dressing up in their era inspired clothing. It was great to see so many of their guests participate!
Thank you to Savannah for second shooting with me that day. You were a huge help! And thank you to Caitlin+Zac for allowing me to share in your day. Congratulations!!!
