Monica + Philip’s 12-13-14 winter wonderland wedding at the Half Moone Celebration Center in Norfolk was just magical. The venue, the decor, the food, the wedding party, the guests, and the overall style was perfect. Jill and her team at Sunkissed Events & Design did an amazing job pulling off Monica + Philip’s vision for their wedding day. The Half Moone is also the perfect setting for a couple who really wants to incorporate a sophisticated venue for their wedding. It was fun to see how the light changed in the Grand Rotunda throughout the afternoon and evening. Spectacular! Uplighting really gives the room that ‘wow’ factor and Stage Right Lighting was spot on! The room changed colors throughout the evening. It was pretty!
And Monica’s dress. I think we need to take a moment. How gorgeous is it!?!? She saw it in a magazine and drove hours (and states) away just to try it on (dedication right there). It looked amazing on her! The dress has such personality and I love that Monica picked something so unique. I was one happy photographer when I walked through the door and saw it hanging up. Hayley Paige sure knows how to make a fun and feminine dress. If you have not checked out her collection of bridal gowns, you must stop what you are doing immediately and go look.
Usually the bride gets surprises, but this one was a little different. The groom was surprised during their entrance into the reception when he walked in and saw all their guests with lightsabers! As you can imagine the dance floor became pretty interesting with those things as the drinks started flowing. They were a fun alternative to sparklers during their exit at the end of the night, too.
Monica + Philip, thank you two so much for choosing me to document your day. A true honor! I wish you all the best in your new life together as husband + wife. And a huge thank you to Beth for second shooting for me that day. What a way to end 2014 and am looking forward to many wonderful weddings in 2015!
