Today was a day of “out with the old, in with the new”. New running shoes that is! It has been looooonnnggg overdue for a new pair of kicks. The gentleman at Running Etc in Norfolk was so knowledgable in helping me pick out the right pair for my needs/feet. I would highly recommend them!
I am in the midst of training for a half marathon (the Crawling Crab in Hampton to be exact). Only 59 more days of training left! Yikes! This will be my 5th time running a half marathon. I had been in a running/exercise slump for more than a year now and by signing up it gave me motivation to kick it into gear. My recent worn Mizunos have weathered a previous half and have seen better days. You don’t realize how ‘old’ they feel until you get to the running store and slip on a brand new pair. So, before I set out this afternoon on my 3-mile, middle of the week run, I thought….shoot, these shoes deserve their own photo-op, too! They may not be $300 stilettos but they are pretty ‘flashy’. The lighting is so pretty in my office during the day too, I couldn’t resist.
