Today is my wedding anniversary. Six years ago today Drew and I said our vows in a very warm Miami, Florida. Since then, we have had our portraits taken every year. We don’t have children and that is typically when most start to think about yearly portraits. Even though we are at a different place in our lives it is still just as important to document the changes in us. More gray hair and maybe a few extra pounds here or there but now we have photos to look back on instead of regret. When Audrey asked me to take her and Branden’s anniversary portraits over a cup of coffee one day I was honored! It is so great to see that portraits are just as important to them and continuing to document their love story, long after the wedding cake has long been cut. The fact that Audrey is also a fellow photographer probably also feeds in to that desire. You can check out her work here.

It was a beautiful spring day in Virginia for their session at the Norfolk Botanical Garden with plenty of pretty blooms. Enjoy some of my favorites while my husband and I indulge in our annual anniversary cake. We get a small one each year to celebrate. Yum!
