I met up with Katie and Mike in Richmond recently for their engagement session. Maymont Park was our first stop. The last time I was there it was fall and I wasn’t sure what the vegetation would look like. Fortunately, there are plenty of spots in the park that don’t require lush, green trees and grass. It’s the main reason why the park is a great option for winter sessions (and any time of the year, really). Good tip for winter sessions when the landscape isn’t looking so fresh….select a place with architecture and plenty of hardscape surfaces. It will always looks photo ready. After that, we headed to the Capitol building downtown (another favorite spot – but right before sunset). I will be seeing these two again this fall at Wisteria Farms for their wedding!
