It is rare when I get to be a guest at a wedding. A couple of weeks ago my husband and I traveled down to Fort Lauderdale and Miami, Florida to attend my friend’s wedding. While we were there we had some time to explore along Las Olas, Wynwood district, Brickell area and even out on Virginia Key. I lived down there (both places) for six years after college. It is like my home away from home when I go back. All the feels (hot sun and all). I didn’t start shooting film until I moved from there and it was nice to go back and shoot some rolls. I was blown away with how much development has happened in the past seven years. I almost didn’t recognize Brickell. My only regret that trip was not taking more photographs. The blues, greens, pinks and light colored tones are so yummy. Light and bright. I miss the texture and shape of the palm trees. That might sound odd but coming from a person educated as a landscape architect it’s totally normal! Hoping to get back there again, soon! Maybe to even photograph a wedding!?
