This past Sunday I had an opportunity of a lifetime. Actually, lets back up a minute. I follow Orchestrated: Stylized Shoots and the fun things they do. When a couple months ago I saw on their schedule that they were organizing an event at a Frank Lloyd Wright house right here in the Hampton Roads area. My heart skipped a beat. I think I may have even squealed a little. During my landscape architecture studies at Michigan State University I was introduced to Mr. Wright and his brilliant designs. As a student were even able to visit one of his residential designs in Michigan. His organic architecture and thoughtfulness of the environment are captivating to me. His use of architectural elements that cast shadows on the ground, that are constantly changing the space throughout the day. I love how the architecture and sun come together to create art. After working with several architects on projects, I have a feeling that Frank and I would have worked well together.
The day came to sign up. This was my first Orchestrated event and I didn’t know how fast the limited tickets would sell out. So being the crazy one I am, I think I set two alarms that day and then sat at my computer that morning, constantly hitting ‘refresh’ on my email. I was waiting for the anticipated e-mail on instructions for signing up. When it popped up, finally, I started getting nervous that I wasn’t going to be fast enough putting in my CC info. HA. I am ridiculous, I know. It’s ok, you can go ahead and laugh. I rreeeeeaaaallllyyy wanted to shoot at this house.
So forward to June 23rd…the day had finally arrived! Whoop whoop! The Cooke House was amazing. The sweet couple who own the house (which is for sale by the way) were so generous to allow us to take over their home for the afternoon. If you want to read more about the history of the Cooke House, check it out here.
On to the good stuff. Orchestrated and their team of vendors did an awesome job setting up this 60’s inspired wedding. It fit the setting perfectly. The florals were AH-mazing! The bride’s dress was AH-mazing! The house in general was AH-mazing! So excited to share these.

Beautiful all around
I love your detail photos in these… one of my favorites is the sink photo, something very intriguing about it. They are all beautiful!
