Our vacation continues from Quebec, Canada to Newport, Rhode Island. You can view part one of our trip to Montreal and Quebec City here. Newport was the perfect halfway point on the way home. I also had an ulterior motive for making this our stop. The historic Newport mansions in the area are insanely gorgeous. As you may know, I love and appreciate architecture. These large homes showcase the Gilded Age at it’s prime. There is something so romantic about each one. The scale, the detailing, the gardens. A wedding dream. We toured four houses: The Breakers, The Elms, Marble House, and my favorite, Rosecliff. The interior of this place is what captured my attention. White on white on white with a few pops of green and gold. It is feminine and beautiful! The best part? You can have your wedding at Rosecliff, too! Hand is still very high in the air over here. Even though we spent most of our time walking and visiting mansions as we were there only one full day, we did hop on our bikes at the end of the day. Newport is a quaint, seaside town and the perfect place for a stroll. We rode over to the head of the Cliff Walk trail. After a mile or so of exploring the cliff on foot we got back on our bikes and headed to the harbor area of town for some ice cream. My only regret was making the decision to leave my camera at our AirBnB during our bike ride. My back was pretty sore from carrying a heavy bag all day and didn’t want to chance the camera falling and breaking so I left it behind. Between Canada and Newport, I still took plenty of photos.
