A short time ago I met up with Kevin and Melinda near their home in Washington, DC at the Anderson House for their engagement. The front courtyard with the large arches, tall black doors and neutral tones was a perfect location for portraits. I love incorporating architectural elements into my photos and the Anderson House had a European vibe (my favorite)! The next time I am back there I am planning on taking a tour of the inside and garden areas.
During a short break to change clothes it started raining. We knew from looking at the radar (and the sound of thunder in the distance during the first half of the session) that it was highly possibly we wouldn’t be able to proceed. However, Kevin and Melinda were game. We grabbed a couple of umbrellas and headed out to Logan Circle for a few minutes. It was a first for me shooting in the rain like that. It would have helped to have an assistant hold the umbrella but I made it work! There wedding is this weekend at the City Winery in DC and it’s going to be pretty!
